White Dove Release
The dove chooses a mate for life making them a beautiful symbol of everlasting love at any wedding. The dove is also the universal symbol of peace, hope and the holy spirit making the white dove release at a funeral or memorial a lovely symbolic gesture for “letting go” so loved ones can start the healing process. This also makes it easier to keep our costs down so we can pass the savings on to you. Yes, this means we may not be able to provide as many options for release baskets and cages but what we have is very nice and should meet the needs of your event.
We will release healthy white homing pigeons that are trained to return home after your event. We lovingly raised these birds from babies at our loft. They were banded at 1 week old identifying them as domestic birds.
The traditional caged doves that so many associate with the true “dove” are too fragile to survive a release in Colorado. They lack the ability to return home so they’re destined to die in the Colorado climate. The use of white homing pigeons is far more humane and every bit as beautiful and symbolic.
Our professional bird handler will arrive on time in proper attire for your event. We will be available before the event to practice the release and answer any questions you have.
Wedding Dove Release
If your wedding will be held inside a building. The doves are brought to your wedding venue in their cages. The doves wait outside in an attractive display cage while your service takes place inside. After the service, when the bridal party and guests make their way outside, there is usually beautiful music playing while the white doves are released.
The Bride and Groom release their doves in co-ordination with the photographer and videographer who can capture the moment of this very symbolic gesture, which signifies the beginning of their new life together. Afterwards the cage is discreetly taken away.
If it’s going to be a Garden Wedding. The doves compliment your garden setting as they watch and listen while you make your marriage vows. The final part of your ceremony can include our beautiful ‘Wedding Wish’. The white doves are then released in co-ordination with your photographer.
Cancellations: We will return deposits for acts of god. If there’s a cancellation at your request, a refund will be considered as long as you give a enough notice. This is on a case by case basis and is up to the owner.
When can we fly: We cannot release birds at night because they will not make it home nor can we release them indoors, this causes injury or death to the birds. It’s dangerous for the birds to release them in inclement weather which is at the discretion of the handler.
Where can we fly: Finally, there’s a limited range the birds can fly to safely return home so it’s at the discretion of the owner to ascertain if your event is within range for their safe return.
